The coat of arms of the Karlovy Vary Region was approved on 12 April 2001 by the Assembly of the Karlovy Vary Region and subsequently on 30 May 2001 by the parliamentary heraldical-vexillological subcommittee of the Chamber of Deputies. It is a red and blue French quartered shield. There is the Bohemian lion in the first field and a golden fountain with silver jetting water in the second one. In the third field there are silver crossed miners' hammers with golden shafts, and under them there are two crossed golden twigs. In the fourth field there is a crowned silver double-tailed lion with golden harness emerging from three wavy silver beams. |
The flag of the Karlovy Vary Region stems from the approved coat of arms of the Karlovy Vary Region. It is a quartered red and blue rectangle. In the upper pole field there is the Bohemian lion, in the lower pole field there are white crossed miners´ hammers on yellow shafts above two yellow crossed twigs. In the upper flying field there is a yellow fountain with white jetting water, in the lower field there are seven horizontal stripes in turns red and white in the following proportion 7:1:1:1:1:1:1. The white stripes are wavy. From the upper one there is a white crowned double-tailed lion with golden harness emerging. The width – length proportion is 2:3. |
The logo of the Karlovy Vary Region symbolizes a geyser and thermal spring water as the symbols of a spa region, and at the same time it is a stylized letter K in the colors of the Karlovy Vary Region, particularly in red and blue. Its author is the graphic designer Regina Sedláčková from the advertising agency Aa from Most. The logo will appear on gift items and promotion articles of the Karlovy Vary Region, in the stands of the region at fairs, in planned information booklets for the population of the region and in advertising. |
